Good, Sometimes frustrating.
This app has some issues. The "lessons" are great, and he does a very nice job of summarizing each point. The exercises are ok and COULD be great, if they included any explanation of why your move was wrong. As it is, if the student doesnt know the right move, he kind of flounders around guessing and trying everything until he finally gives up or accidentally gets it right by process of elimination. This takes FOREVER and not a great way to learn. A "hint" option would be great for some of the harder exercises. Also, the pieces are sometimes very hard to move! You cant really see which square youre moving the piece to. The app should highlight the square that the piece is over so you know when to let go of it. Anyway, Im not sure I would call this app chess "lessons", because the feedback is so minimal or non-existent during the exercises. His intro explanations about each topic are very good, though.
